In 2001 a group of bikes practicing at the Willowbrook parking lot caught my eye and I said to Julie I have always wanted to learn to ride! So with encouragement from the family I signed up for a learn to ride course at Canadian Safety council. After completing my course in 2001 I purchased a used 1999 V-star 1100, I thought it was very cool!, Julie instantly said that I looked like I was riding a child’s bike, The search was then on for a real bike. In 2002 we found my first ‘big boy’ bike at a Kelowna dealership, a gently used 1999 Goldwing. I then joined GWRRA and really acquired a wealth of knowledge from fellow members regarding maintenance, riding skills, group riding etc. I took every safety course that I could. I initially joined the BCMDT in 2003 and left to pursue other interests in 2004. In 2012 with the encouragement of John Waddington I decided to rejoin the group to hone my riding skills
